Do you want your artwork to be in the CD booklet of my upcoming Rufus Rex album ‘Dead Beat’?

Well, you’re in luck. All you have to do is create a piece of artwork (drawing, painting, etc) based on the first single ‘Rise Lazarus Rise’ and e-mail it to me at rufusrexmusic@gmail.com. I will then re-post each and every entry on the website here in three places (by clicking on the title of this blog, the little sidebar to your right, and in the media section under photos) for all to see.

All entries must be received by May 13th (Friday the 13th) By 5:00pm (pacific time) and I will pick the winner exactly one hour later at 6:00pm. The lucky winner will then go on to have their artwork printed up in the CD booklet of my debut Rufus Rex album entitled ‘Dead Beat’. I only have three rules, make it based on the theme of ‘Rise Lazarus Rise’, the art must be perfectly square to be able to fit the measurements of the booklet, & the winner must have a high resolution version of the artwork (at least 300dpi) ready to send upon notification. You can send as many entries as you’d like.

All donations will be put toward the first Rufus Rex music video and the full album release. Hello fiends,

Welcome to my brand new website for my solo music project Rufus Rex. This has been a crazy idea of mine for quite some time and now I’m finally seeing it through and unleashing it into the world. The album is a concept about one man’s quest for immortality at the expense of his own sanity and the lives of the people around him. The style of the music ranges from a reanimation themed waltz, to a guitar heavy rock song about creatures that exist in the thin veil between worlds, to a 1930’s acoustic gypsy guitar song about hiding the bodies of failed experiments underneath your house.

The album is in the final mixing stage as we speak and I should have release information sometime in the next few weeks. I will also be releasing the first track next month as a digital download. I posted the intro snippet “Death Is Just The Beginning” here under the music section for streaming and over on the official Rufus Rex Bandcamp page as a FREE higest quality download. Hello fiends,

I’m finally back from the dead to let you know that my debut album from my solo band “Rufus Rex” is just about finished and it is a Lovecraftian concept album about one man’s quest to reanimate the dead and free the human race from the curse of morality, only to be met with dire consequences and bloody revelations. I’ll be filling you in with more info in the weeks to come, but I thought I would drop by and give you a quick update. The name of the album is “Dead Beat” and here is the cover artwork by the amazing Thomas Boatwright.

I also wanted to thank all you fiends for the ongoing support of my music and all my other strange projects. Soon you’ll have some much new music, your ears will bleed.
